Climate change and energy production account for almost two-thirds of global greenhouse gas emissions.* Still, the experts expect demand for electricity to increase more than 40% in 2030.* Although emissions are expected to remain unchanged, the overall picture does not look that bright to meet the climate commitments of over 150 countries at the COP21 conference in Paris in 2015. The International Energy Agency (IEA) formulated a “bridging strategy” to deal with this early on and avoid peak greenhouse gas emissions.
